Erica "Natural" Bennett
Curator of the Natural Hair Revolution
Curator: A person who manages, administers or organizes a collection of valuable entities, either independently or employed by an organized body...
Erica Bennett wasn't the pioneer of the Natural Hair Revolution but she has been a key figure in keeping the revolution at the forefront of the professional ranks of Hair stylists. This young creative mind announced her eventual life's passion at the tender age of 12. "I want my own hair salon," proclaimed the St. Louis native to her Mother. "I've always loved the artistry of the profession and knew that being a licensed stylist was in my future."
Bennett went on to feed her entrepreneurial spirit by learning from some of the best in the business. "My teachers and mentors taught me that creativity was only part of the formula for success, I also had to learn the core building blocks of maintaining a business with staying power." At the tender age of 26, this Mother of 2 sons, took the leap and 7 years later she is still going strong.
I love being in the midst of creative people and to have the opportunity to provide a place where that creativity can grow and
develop is the best part of my everyday. To be given the title of Curator is an honor and one that I don’t take lightly.
I understand the responsibilities that go along with being a leader in any field, especially one that I have so much passion for.
In 2012 Bennett will have the opportunity to continue the Natural Hair Revolution by hosting the All About Hair-Hair and
Fashion
Show to be held in her beloved St. Louis, MO.
